Born along the coast, the tidal flats, and the water-lit ruin.
A current still pulses inside the glass. The coolest Heart — a wide Aqua diffusion that reads the way light reads through moving water.
Tide-born
Tide-born Motes trace their Heart to the water: a fishing flat at low light, a tidepool shrine, a submerged ruin revealed by a receding tide. Whatever carried that water imprinted on the Mote's chest as a widespread Aqua pulse — cooler than the Hearth-born's focused warmth, slower in rhythm, diffused like light passing through a current.
Tide-born culture is shaped by what the water does and when. Tide-step navigation. Moon-phase observation. Coastal trade along the lanternchain between settlements. The ceremonial activation of moon-gates on specific lunar phases. Tide-born are most common along coastlines and any major river system. Less common inland, though present wherever water has long memory.
Where the light comes from
Every Lineage carries a small family of colors — one on the Mote itself, the rest showing up across ornament, armor, and the places they gather.
